OXO Silicone Wine Stopper
OXO reached out to ELEVEN to innovate in the wine preservation space. We evaluated the product landscape and saw an opportunity space for a robust, leak proof, low profile solution. Sealing on both the inside and outside of the bottle, users can be confident storing their wine bottles anywhere in the fridge, horizontally or vertically, without leaks. Designed to accommodate almost every wine bottle opening, and even some olive oil and vinegar bottles. The brim on the top allows for a comfortable, low profile touchpoint accessible for all ages of user. When not in use, the stoppers snap together for compact and delightful storage.

After selecting a concept direction, we prototyped and refined the design to achieve maximum ease of use and wine bottle fit. Collaborating with the OXO team, we quickly tooled several different prototype variations of the stopper, experimenting with subtle variations in wall thickness, inner fin dimensions, and shore durometer to find the optimal solution.
We did an extensive market audit of the different size, wall thicknesses, and neck shapes of wine bottles from all over the world. Using this information, we created a maximum dimension, minimum dimension, and average dimension to test our concepts against
